The Zwyssighof was built in the 1950s as a journeymen’s house. At the time the building was designed, many young craftsmen were still roaming through our up-and-coming region. The journeymen’s associations and their houses provided journeymen with shelter and a home. But soon after the house was opened, it became evident that needs had changed, and the journeymen’s house was converted into a hotel. The original builders retired and established the “Alberich Zwyssig” foundation, in remembrance of the monk from Wettingen.
The house has been owned by the Stefan and Esther Käufeler family since 1993.
